The Ant
Crush it, and yet it moves.
A maribelli bend
folds head and abdomen
the way your thumb doubles
back on its knuckle.
Pull a limb and a globule
forms like honeysuckle
nectar at the broken
end of a filament.
Some windup key entwines
its forelegs and the sky,
and the globule thickens.
And yet it moves, you think.
Its jaws gnash for your skin.
